Growing Together: Events and New Ventures

  • In 2024, hosted our first Seed Swap at River Valley Arts Center in Wappinger.

  • Repeated the Seed Swap event in 2025 with continued success.

  • Built and launched a free tiny seed library at Grinnell Library.

  • Host several "Coffee at Carnwath" events for knowledge-sharing and conversation. 

  • Introduced three new dahlia events: Tuber Swap (April 2025), Planting (May 2025) Workshop, and Dahlia Show (September 2025). Please follow @dahlias_in_tow or email @dahlias.in.tow@gmail.com for more information.

  • Launching a new art event, Art in the Wild, featuring 12 grottos along a hiking trail adorned with art from local artists.

First Annual Seed Swap: A Growing Success

Carnwath Naturalist and Carnwath Community Farming proudly hosted our First Annual Community Seed Swap. We were thrilled to collaborate with the Dutchess Land Conservancy, Stony Kill Foundation, Evergreen Minds, and the Verplank Garden Club to bring this event to life.

The River Valley Arts Center provided the perfect space for our community to gather and exchange seeds. We were also supported by generous contributions from Fruition Seeds, Hudson Valley Seed Co, Adams Fairacre Farms, Los Hornitos, and Wagon Wheel Pizza, who kept the event stocked with seeds, delicious food, and, most importantly, love!
